Renovation design for a XVI century monumental church. Based on this topic, 2 science articles was prepared, one of which covering the dynamic analysis of a belfry tower. Renovation was required due to bad technical condition. Three separate models were prepared in Advance Design – timber belfry tower, middle turret and arch roof of a nave. Static analysis of these models was used to prove exceeded effort of existing structures and to design right reinforcement. For a belfry tower dynamic analysis was performed also. Despite FEM calculations, Advance Design was used for timber design according to Eurocode 5.

Prepared model consists of 1221 linear and 420 planar elements.

User benefits:

  • Powerful engine of Advance Design allowing to model complex physical phenomena such as the vibrations of the belfry with bells. Simplified modelling process with an important safe of time and reduced risk of errors, Advance Design allows the structural engineer to spend less time in the modelling step and invest time on analysing the results, doing his real engineering job.
