Mixed RC and steel structure of a depository for State Science Library in Ústí nad Labem. It is an attachment to existing historical building. The object also contains a study room. Part of the roof structure is used as a parking.

The project also includes new main access staircase. The main part of the project – underground floor and 1st floor are RC slabs supported by RC columns and walls (the slab is supported by 4 rows of columns – spacing 5.4 m, in the other direction the raster of columns is 6,0+3,15+9×5,4 m, peripheral walls are subject to ground pressure, expansion joint is done by means of double columns).

Part of the public area on the 1st floor is designed as a steel structure with slanted steel columns and variable heigh steel roof structure and is a scope of different model. The rest is again RC slab supported by walls and columns and includes opening for skylights. The overall structure is supported on piles. The main purpose of the project is a depository for a library (with special system of mechanical movable racks for book storage), but also includes public part of a library with a study and standard book lending.

User benefits:

Reading dxf files for definition of a model is real advantage of Advance Design as well as generator of combinations. Possibility to show design efforts of RC slabs in graphical format means faster rebar detailing.
