Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand partner up with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.

The Opportunity Centre Valaska, develops and performs education, employment, health and social activities for socially disadvantaged groups of the population. The main activities of the Centre are carried out in three buildings in Valaska, a village in central Slovakia. They consist of a community centre, a social enterprise, employing approximately 50 people from the area that would otherwise struggle to find a job, as well as an abandoned four-floor administrative building.
The support from Graitec in the form of the software donation, together with the financial support from Seven2, will be used primarily for the Opportunity Centre Valaska. The funding will be used for the re-adaptation of the existing building into more than 30 social housing units as well as the expansion of the laundry space and renovation of the roof.
The software licence donation from GRAITEC, coupled with technical assistance, will enable designing blueprints and increase the efficiency of the planning and management of the renovation.
