Francis Guillemard founded Graitec with the vision to provide Structural Design Offices with innovative software solutions combining powerful finite element engines and interactive graphical user interfaces.
1989
Launch of Effel (Finite Element analysis software for concrete, steel and timber structures).
1993
Launch of Arche (load balancing simulation and automatic rebar detailing for reinforced concrete building) which will revolutionize the design & detailing of concrete buildings in France. Arche is today the de-facto standard for concrete buildings in France.
1995
Launch of Melody (steel frame analysis software that features automatic connection design and drawing creation). Melody imposed itself on the French market thanks to its easiness of use and effectiveness.
1998
After 12 years of activity, Graitec becomes the French leader for Structural Analysis and automatic detailing.
1999

Creation of Graitec Canada
Launch of Advance Concrete, an AutoCAD® based solution for reinforced concrete modeling and detailing.
Graitec becomes an Autodesk UAR (Unique Application reseller).
2002
Acquisition of DSC CAD/CAM-Technologien GmbH in Germany (later renamed Graitec Germany). DSC owns HyperSteel (Steel Modeling and Detailing software) which will serve as the technical platform for the development of Advance Steel.
2003
Launch of Advance Steel, an AutoCAD® based solution for steel modeling and detailing. Advance Steel will permanently grow until Graitec sells it (as well as Advance Concrete) to Autodesk in 2013.
Acquisition of AB Studio spol. s.r.o. (later renamed Graitec CZ) in Czech Republic and expansion of the Graitec product suite with Cadkon (AutoCAD® based application for Architecture and MEP).
2005
Launch of Advance Design, a new generation structural analysis software which will step by step replace Effel in France and be sold internationally.
2007
Acquisition of Adris Ltd. in the UK (later renamed Graitec UK). Adris is the first Autodesk VAR purchased by Graitec.
Acquisition of CivilDesign Inc. in Canada and expansion of the Graitec product suite with VisualDesign (Finite Element Analysis software for concrete, steel and timber) which will merge with Advance Design.
2008
Acquisition of CSI (Computer Service im Ingenieurbau GmbH) in Germany and expansion of Graitec suite with CS-Statik (structural analysis and design) and CS Pons (bridge calculation). CSI will merge will Graitec Germany.
Acquisition of Integer Ltd. in the UK and expansion of the Graitec product suite with SuperSUITE (steel and concrete design for buildings and bridges). SuperSUITE will be merged with Advance Design and the company Integer will also be merged with Graitec UK.
Acquisition of ABC Service sarl, a major reseller of CAD solutions for steel construction in France, and creation of a CAD department dedicated to steel construction. ABC Services will be merged with Graitec France.
2009
Creation of Graitec Russia in partnership with the Graitec partner INFARS.
Creation of YellowCAD France, for offering a CAD alternative solution on the French market.
2011
Acquisition of Trepcad GmbH by Graitec GmbH and extension of the Graitec Suite with TrepCAD software for staircase construction.
Acquisition of B&B s.r.l. in Italy (later renamed Graitec Italy).
2012
Graitec launches Graitec Advance 2012 which, for the first time, includes its own CAD platform and gives customers the flexibility to run Advance Steel either on AutoCAD or on its own CAD system. Advance Design is powered with the latest European standards (Eurocode 0, 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8), American standards ACI (for reinforced concrete) and AISC (for steel construction).
2013
Graitec Advance 2013 offers CAD platform freedom to Autodesk Advance Concrete customers (same approach than Advance Steel in 2012)
Graitec SA and Autodesk Inc. finalize a definitive share purchase agreement regarding Advance Steel and Autodesk Advance Concrete.
Graitec SA becomes Graitec INNOVATION SAS.

Graitec now delivers 2 versions of Advance PowerPack: PowerPack for Autodesk Advance Steel® and PowerPack or Autodesk Revit®.

Graitec acquires an Autodesk gold partner in Russia: PSS (later renamed PSS Graitec). The main office is in Saint Petersburg. Satellites offices in Moscow, Krasnodar and Novosibirsk.
Graitec launches Graitec Advance 2017 software which comes with more than 100 new features helping construction professionals to connect structural and MEP engineers to BIM workflows.
2017
Acquisition of an Autodesk Gold partner in Germany: B&L. B&L will quickly be merged with Graitec Germany.
After 3 years of intensive development, Graitec launches Advance BIM Designers, a BIM Solution for improving structural projects management. Helps users to create, design, document (design reports, Bill Of Materials, Quantity takeoff, Detail drawings, etc.), track and control structural members of a BIM project. Advance BIM Designers are designed to work in a standalone environment or embedded in Autodesk Revit® or in Advance Design.
2018
Graitec acquires ProCAD in Montreal, Autodesk reseller in Canada (will be immediately merged with Graitec Canada).
Acquisition of Arma+ company, a French based company that provides IT and Fabrication Software solutions for the construction, steel and concrete industries.
2019
Graitec acquires UK based company Opentree in January. Opentree provides EDM solutions for the management of the entire document lifecycle of projects, and conforms to BIM standards and ISO 19650 / BS1192 workflows.
Acquisition of an Autodesk Gold partner in Spain: 2aCAD with main offices in Zaragoza, Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia.
Acquisition of an Autodesk Gold partner in France: Lineis (will be quickly merged with Graitec France).

Apax Partners joins Graitec as a majority investor with the ambition to make Graitec a leader in BIM by expanding its existing software portfolio and developing the distribution of innovative BIM solutions.
Graitec acquires CADPoint in November. CADPoint is a U.K based company that provides Autodesk solutions for the AEC Industry to a broad range of clients located across the United Kingdom.
2022
GRAITEC to gain a strong foothold in the US market through Applied Software acquisition.
Founded in 1982 in Atlanta, Applied Software specializes in computational design for construction, industrial and manufacturing production, and civil engineering with expertise in BIM and digital mock-ups. With a team of 130 employees located in over 20 states, the Company has helped more than 5,000 clients digitalise their construction and manufacturing.
With its current activities mainly focused on Europe and Canada, the acquisition will enable GRAITEC to significantly consolidate its existing position in North America by gaining considerable market shares in the US BIM market, the largest in the world.
