This project is located on the Battice fortress site.
In addition to its buried fort and its kilometers underground galleries, this historical and touristic site is also composed of two bunkers: the first one is from the Second World War and the second one is a NATO bunker, built during the Cold War, which was built in addition to a 72 meters height metal tower, as a support for the radars detectors of the Eastern bloc.

Even though the fortress and bunkers are already accessible to the public, the metal tower is currently not. The goal of this project is to create a structure allowing the access to it, in order to offer a magnificent panorama of the region.

Our project consists in a 36 meters height concrete tower equipped with an internal elevator and external peripheral stairs. Two metallic platforms are to  be built on the NATO tower and connected to the concrete one. The first platform, at a 16 meters height, is straight and crosses the existing tower while the second one, at a 32 meters height, is circular, to be built around it.

Since the two towers are to be connected at the metal walkways level, the deflection compatibility is essential. Also, the existing metal tower must be able to support the platforms overload.
Finally, we must avoid differential settlements, because the existing soil mechanical characteristics is not optimal (existing embankments).

User benefits:

In this project’s realization, the advantages of using the Advance Design software are numerous.
For example, the main one in this case is the automatic wind generation. Whether it is a closed building like the concrete tower or a lattice structure like the steel tower.
In our case, we can also  mention the Concrete module, which allows us to perform deflection calculations and to directly define the necessary steel reinforcements, according to the parameters entered beforehand.
