The office building consists of a basement and a ground floor completely made of reinforced concrete. The floors are composed of a column-beam system in the facades + a reinforced concrete elevator-stairwell. The floors, beams and interior columns, as well as the other stairwell, are made of timber frame.
We used Advance Design software on this project for the mixed wood-concrete structure and for the seismic calculation. A modal analysis is carried out on the basis of the EC8 calculation spectrum to define the displacements and the seismic forces (finite element calculation model). We exchanged with the timber frame company to know the structural elements in order to integrate them into our model. This way we could have a model that was as close to reality as possible, integrating the new materials in accordance with the data provided by the company. Once the model was completed, we passed on the efforts to the timber frame company so that they could dimension their elements. We also exchanged with the pile builder to give him the seismic forces to be taken in his piles.
